ZADAR ZADAR, April 1 (Hina) - Zadar County prefect Sime Prtenjaca spoke at Tuesday's session of the county leadership about the demolition of houses at Vrana near Zadar by order of the Environmental Protection and Urban Zoning
Ministry. He said the government should show its strength by resolving countless cases of illegally constructed buildings and usurped land instead of tearing down houses near Lake Vrana, in an area which the ministry claims is part of an ornithology reserve.

According to Prtenjaca, the ministry does not have the original map
of the ornithology reserve and the documents it refers to are
suspicious because the Pakostani municipality documents show that
the houses are not in the reserve, but outside it and in the
construction zone.
Environmental Protection and Urban Zoning Minister Bozo Kovacevic
said the ministry had considered all the facts before the
demolition of four housing facilities at Lake Vrana. He said the
owners of the four houses did not have construction permits and the
houses therefore had to be torn down.
