Shouting insults, the assailants lunged at the nuns, but they
managed to get away without injuries. The incident happened while
the nuns were on their way to the city cathedral.
Shortly after this incident, a young man entered the cathedral with
a cigarette in his hand, going round the pews several times in an
obvious attempt to provoke the gathered.
In another incident a member of the Bosnian archdiocese's
ordinariate returning from mass to the ordinariate on Friday was
approached by a young man who offered to sell him a cross. After the
priest told him to return the cross to where he had stolen it, the
man walked away.
When he came to the ordinariate, the priest saw that the door phone
had been stolen. Since the ordinariate was under video surveillance
which the thief had obviously overlooked, a video-recording showed
that the person who had stolen the door phone was the same man who
offered to sell the priest a cross. The police were informed about
the incident and they carried out an on-the-spot investigation.
Shortly after this incident, theft of a cross was reported in
another church.
Two hours later, the said priest recognised the cross thief near the
cathedral, of which he informed the police, who intervened promptly
and arrested the suspect.
