ZAGREB, March 28 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament concluded a
discussion on a bill on health care on Friday afternoon, and thus
wrapped up this week's sitting. #L#
The bill, which is now in the first reading, mustered the support of
a majority of parliamentary party benches, despite a remark that it
would not be advisable to adopt it outside the set of other laws
pertaining to the reform in the health sector. The set includes, for
instance, bills on doctors, dentists, nurses and rights of
patients.
The bills will be in parliamentary procedure in April, and only the
bill on patients' rights can come later, as some more adjustments
are needed, Health Minister Andro Vlahusic said in parliament.
The Sabor will resume its 31st session on Tuesday, 1 April, with a
discussion on amendments to the existing electoral law, suggested
by the parliamentary committee for the constitution and rule-
book.
The resumption of the plenary session is thus shifted from
Wednesday, as it is usually when MPs convene, to Tuesday so that the
parliament can meet the constitutional obligation to adopt a new
law or changes to the valid law on elections by 2 April.
