Beopetrol is one of the biggest chains of petrol stations in the
country with over 100 outlets.
The invitation for bids could be made complicated by a suit
announced by the Croatian state-run company INA that insists on the
restitution of its property currently owned by Beopterol.
Interest in the Serbian company has so far been shown by Hungary's
MOL, Russian oil companies, the Greek Hellenic Petroleum and
Austria's OMV.
Analysts have cautioned that it is not certain whether the entire
transaction can be carried out due to the current political
situation in Serbia in the wake of the assassination of Premier
Zoran Djindjic.
