The role of the council is not to decide but to monitor the process
and ensure that procedures are adhered to and are fair, transparent
and that the public is kept informed of the process, Racan said on
Croatian Radio.
As far as the latest meadia headlines are concerned regarding
disputes between Deputy Prime Minister Slavko Linic and Ina's
President of the Board Tomislav Dragicevic, Racan said he was not
aware of any such dispute.
One daily reported on Sunday that Linic accused the director of Ina
for accepting a bribe with reference to the Rijeka and Sisak
refineries and a bid for tenders to upgrade the two refineries.
The premier voiced concern that this was just another unnecessary
affair. "I have no knowledge why and where it arose," he said.
