The two ministers held two-hour talks on the countries' further
steps regarding the involvement of a Russian company, Emercom, in
demining in Croatia.
The US$33-million mine-clearing operation will be carried out as
part of Russia's settling its clearing debt to Croatia.
Russia's overall clearing debt to the former Yugoslavia is
estimated at some US$1,290,000,000. Of this amount, 23 percent
should go to Croatia.
