At the meeting, chaired by the pact's special co-ordinator, Erhard
Busek, participants were acquainted with a report on results in the
implementation of the pact's priorities for 2003 such as the media,
local democracy, cross-border cooperation, infrastructure, trade
and investments, the prevention of organised crime, the security
sector, etc.
The gathered at this event applauded Croatia's signing of a
memorandum of understanding on the establishment of the power
supply market in south-eastern Europe and its connection with the
EU market.
All the three working tables and the regional table of this pact
will be convened in the Croatian seaside resort of Cavtat on 26-27
May.
The Cavtat gathering, at which European Commission officials and
representatives of Greece and Italy, the current and next chairs of
the EU, are expected, will be the last meeting of south-eastern
European countries' diplomats prior to an EU summit in Salonika,
set for 21 June.
