ZAGREB, March 6 (Hina) - Compared to 2002, about 60 percent more surface, mostly farm land and forests, will be cleared of mines this year, it is noted in the 2003 de-mining plan, approved by the government on Thursday.

Bjelovar-Bilogora County will definitely be entirely cleared of
mines this year.
A total of 348 million kuna (approx. 45 million euros) will be
invested into de-mining in 2003, said Labour and Welfare Minister
Davorko Vidovic, who is also the chairman of the Croatian Mine
Action Centre's Advisory Board.
The government also discussed the social rights of mine removal
experts and laws regulating de-mining.
