UNMIK spokesman Simon Haselock told the Albanian media in Pristina
the proposal made no sense and was contrary to the commitments of
the international community.
The plan on the creation of a mini-state in northern Kosovo was also
dismissed by representatives of Kosovo's three leading Albanian
parties.
Djindjic told Britain's Times that Belgrade would sponsor the
establishment of a Serb mini-state in Kosovo if the West prevented
the return of Serbian forces to the province.
