About 40,714 people are employed in the Croatian army. By 2006, that
number should be reduced to 23,742, a 51 percent decrease.
The programme to decrease the number of employees in the military
will be implemented by re-training staff and finding them new
employment.
Four mobile transition teams in Zagreb, Rijeka, Split and Osijek
will advise redundant employees and assist them in realising their
"new career".
The programme was presented today to about 150 employees at
Rijeka's Trsat barracks.
