Meta stated that Tirana did not support any extremist groups.
He pointed out that radical Albanian groups should finally realise
that they could only serve as an excuse to tarnish the reputation of
Albanians in the region.
Peace and co-operation in the region was one of the main topics at
talks Svilanovic had with Albanian President Alfred Moisiu.
Svilanovic pointed to the need to fight organised crime which he
said was the main threat to stability in the region.
Svilanovic arrived in Tirana on Friday as the chair of the Southeast
European Cooperation Initiative (SECI). In April this year the SECI
is to hold a meeting in Belgrade at the presidential level.
Albania's Moisiu has been invited to the meeting.
