ZAGREB, Feb 12 (Hina) - The Austrian Embassy in Zagreb refuted the writing by the Globus weekly on Wednesday according to which Austrian Ambassador Hans Knitel had personally informed the Croatian government and international circles
that he had seen retired General Ante Gotovina in Zagreb leaving the house of General Janko Bobetko.
ZAGREB, Feb 12 (Hina) - The Austrian Embassy in Zagreb refuted the
writing by the Globus weekly on Wednesday according to which
Austrian Ambassador Hans Knitel had personally informed the
Croatian government and international circles that he had seen
retired General Ante Gotovina in Zagreb leaving the house of
General Janko Bobetko. #L#
"The Austrian Ambassador neither informed the government nor
international organisations about any sighting of General Gotovina
exiting the house of Janko Bobetko, nor had he informed the police
of this in any sense," the Embassy said in a statement.
"All factual claims made in the article are pure speculation
without foundation," said the embassy in response to an article
entitled "The Hague: Gotovina is in Croatia", that was ran in the
weekly's latest issue.
Globus wrote that "in the midst of the recent Bobetko case", the
Austrian Ambassador "saw General Bobetko face to face" and had
informed the police of this three days later.
