ZAGREB, Jan 30 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivica Racan said on Thursday
a task force comprised of three ministers would consider
developments in the privatisation of the Suncani Hvar hotel company
and the government would make a final decision on this issue next
Thursday. #L#
The task force includes Davorko Vidovic, minister of labour and
welfare, Zeljko Pecek, minister of small and medium enterprise, and
Radimir Cacic, minister of reconstruction, construction and
development.
It has to analyse the situation based on conclusions the government
reached last week, apply them and present the government with a
final stand, including an assessment of what has been done and of
possible oversights in the Suncani Hvar privatisation, Racan said
at the start of today's government session.
Before the government makes the final decision on company, he
called on all ministers to refrain from public discussions or
quarrelling, including at news conferences.
Racan said the issue surrounding the privatisation of the hotel
chain should end where it had begun -- the government.
"If it started in the government, then it has to end in the
government, and the government takes full responsibility for any
decision, regardless of pressure from the side," he said.
He recalled that last week, when it decided to sell Suncani Hvar to
Slovenia's Terme Catez, the government concluded it was necessary
to secure all guarantees for a full investment in the hotel chain,
clear all possible disputes and make a final decision on the basis
of that.
A news conference at which Tourism Minister Pave Zupan Ruskovic was
to outline the bids the Croatian Privatisation Fund had received
for Suncani Hvar was called off.
