hour" for an agreement to be reached. #L#
HLS president Ivica Babic said the aim of the action was to show the
turnout of physicians on strike, adding that the union did not wish
to hamper efforts to reach an agreement with the Health Ministry.
Ministry and HLS representatives will later today continue
negotiations on union requests for higher salaries and the
cessation of the strike, which began on January 15.
The Croatian Pensioners' Party (HSU) today denounced the
continuation of the strike and requested that regular medical care
be secured for citizens.
The HSU believes that pensioners are affected the most by the
doctors' strike and the obstinacy of the union and ministry. The
party is requesting that the strike end and that order be introduced
in the health system.
