SKOPJE, Jan 22 (Hina) - The fifth Council of Europe ministerial conference on gender equality entitled "Women's Role in Democratisation, Building Peace and Preventing Conflicts", ended in Skopje on Thursday with the adoption of a
declaration and draft resolution on further activities of this body.

in Skopje on Thursday with the adoption of a declaration and draft

The conference, at which Croatia was represented by Defence
Minister Zeljka Antunovic, was attended by representatives of 30
Council of Europe countries, observer countries and several
international and non-governmental organisations. It was opened by
Macedonian Premier Branko Crvenkovski.
During the unofficial part of conference, the present forwarded an
appeal to prevent the war in Iraq, which was signed by
representative of 41 non-governmental organisations.
