Mate Jukic had said that Alka duke Mirko Norac would be expelled from the society if he was convicted by the Rijeka County Court.
SINJ, Jan 19 (Hina) - The steering committee of the Alka Knights
Society (VAD) has dismissed claims by the head of the Co-ordinating
Body of War Veterans Associations from the Cetina Region, Ante
Jozic, who stated that VAD president Mate Jukic had said that Alka
duke Mirko Norac would be expelled from the society if he was
convicted by the Rijeka County Court. #L#
"The Society's president has never made such a statement, nor have
any of the steering committee's members," notes a statement the
Society issued on Sunday responding to Jozic's statement given at a
press conference in Sinj yesterday.
The Society strongly supports its lawfully elected duke and
legendary Homeland War veteran, Mirko Norac, it is noted in the
statement.
Norac is standing trial at the Rijeka County Court for war crimes
committed in the area of Gospic in 1991.
