In reaction to accusations of the Italian minority, Minister
Plenipotentiary in charge of the UPT management, Vittorio Paolini,
told the daily "there is no UPT 'clone' in Rijeka to control the work
of the Italian minority".
Allegations about the establishment of an institution which would
become the owner of real-estate of the Italian minority, Paolini
said were "fabrications".
The Italian minority accused the UPT of wishing to have more
influence over the UI's action programme and rob it of its autonomy.
Paolini said there was a law stipulating that several subjects made
decisions, including the UI, UPT and the Foreign Ministry.
