The companies' interest in the meeting is great and government
officials have announced several more such meetings.
A list with 32 companies was drawn up in agreement with the Croatian
Chamber of Commerce and the Employers' Association.
PM Ivica Racan told reporters today it was not possible to make a
general project of the penetration of the regional market by
Croatian companies, but that concrete operative projects would be
required.
It will also be necessary to remove antagonisms and prejudices
which exist in some business circles towards some companies and
their owners, as well as administrative obstacles, the PM said.
The expansion of economy, the improvement of the standard of living
of Croatian citizens and a decisive step forward towards Europe are
chances which we must not miss, Racan said.
This is a national task and responsibility of the incumbent
government, he added.
Bids for the purchase of 25% plus one share of the Croatian oil
industry INA will be opened on Friday, January 17.
The government wants the procedure to be open for public, Racan told
reporters, adding the only possible restriction could be the
imperative of business secret.
The government wants to see the INA strengthen its position on the
regional market after its privatisation, Racan said.
