Instructions signed by Health Minister Andro Vlahusic recall that
an agreement was reached by the ministry and the Croatian Health
Insurance Institute with competent bodies about the standards and
general rules for labour contracts in 2003, including the salaries
for general practitioners and dentists.
The ministry committed health institutions' administrations to
secure the non-stop provision of health care during the strike
through adequate organisation.
The administrations and heads of individual units in health
institutions are obliged to conduct a daily register on doctors and
dentists on strike, and managers have been instructed to submit all
the information to the Health Ministry or a competent county health
service by 3pm each day.
The heads of medical institutions are also obliged to warn the staff
that a strike should not be organised inside the health institution
facilities, as well as that the salaries for all those on strike
would be lessened in accordance with the time spent on strike.
