published in the latest issue of theMostar-based weekly "Danas".
MOSTAR, Dec 23 (Hina) - The trial of Ante Jelavic, a former member of
the Bosnian Presidency and former leader of the Bosnian HDZ party, will be
completed by the end of January 2005, chief prosecutor John McNair said in an
interview published in the latest issue of the Mostar-based weekly "Danas".This is the first official announcement of completion of the trial.
Jelavic is charged with involvement in the embezzlement of funds which the
Croatian government sent as aid to the Bosnian Croats through Hercegovacka
Banka.
Jelavic has been detained in the Kula prison in Republika Srpska, the
Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina, since January 2004 when he was arrested in
Mostar.
