The handbook provides practical advice about the development of a strategy for and implementation of activities aimed at preventing and responding to violence as well as information on the basic health, legal and security issues and issues related to the human rights of refugees, returnees and displaced people, the UNHCR office said in a statement.
The publication was prepared in cooperation with some 60 UNHCR partners working on the protection of refugees from all over the world - governments, inter-governmental organisations and NGOs. It is intended for UNHCR staff, as well as for UNHCR's partners involved in the protection of and provision of assistance to refugees and internally displaced people.
The presentation was attended by representatives of the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development, the Interior Ministry, the offices of ombudswomen for gender equality and children, the Croatian Red Cross, NGOs and UN agencies in Croatia.
