"I still have not spoken with the prime minister, but I have received from him a message in writing saying that an agreement is possible," Mesic said.
PM Sanader said in an interview for the central news broadcast on Croatian Television this evening that he sent today a letter to President Mesic proposing that the Council for National Security hold a session as soon as possible to solve all issues related to the case.
Mesic also said that Sanader did not have all the information which had prompted him (Mesic) to co-sign a decision on Podbevsek's replacement.
"The prime minister did not have all the arguments which I have. When he receives them, I hope that those arguments will make the difference," said Mesic, who attended a charity event in Virovitica.
