ZAGREB, Nov 25 (Hina) - Three opposition parties have decided to respond in kind to the proposal by the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party that the Parliament should establish a commission to look into the business dealings of two high-ranking opposition officials.

The People's Party (HNS), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Peasant Party (HSS) now want a similar commission to investigate the business transactions of Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul since the day they took office.

The initiative was launched by the HNS and was joined by the SDP and the HSS on Thursday. It followed the proposal by the HDZ for a parliamentary probe into business dealings by senior HNS official Radimir Cacic and HSS leader Zlatko Tomcic.

Presidents Vesna Pusic of the HNS, Ivica Racan of the SDP and Zlatko Tomcic of the HSS agreed at a meeting on Thursday that they would table their proposal in the Parliament next Monday.

On Wednesday, the Parliament added to the agenda the HDZ's proposal that a commission should be set up to examine contracts signed between the state and companies partly or fully owned by Cacic and Tomcic while they were senior state officials.
