The proceedings have been launched after an internal investigation established numerous irregularities in Domic's work.
Possible proceedings to relieve Domic of duty as a judge and to launch criminal proceedings against her are within the jurisdiction of the State Judicial Council (GSV) and the State Prosecutor's Office, the minister told a news conference on Wednesday.
Domic has come into the focus of media attention after local residents filed a number of complaints regarding her work, particularly referring to the 'very expeditious' resolution of cases regarding land and real estate ownership in which she is believed to have caused damage to actual owners on the southern island of Brac.
The internal investigation also established that in her capacity as president of the court, she used to arbitrarily commission cases and take over a score of cases herself, mostly those submitted by the same plaintiff.
It has been established that more than 90 percent of the rulings she passed in a period of five years were based on the alleged absence of the sued party, whose residence she failed to appropriately check and establish.
An oddity connected with the scandal is that the 'efficient' judge once scheduled 34 main hearings on the same day, with ten of them scheduled at the same time.
The minister also announced the launching of criminal proceedings against a judge, three court employees and a local prosecutor in the southern coastal city of Makarska.
