RIJEKA, Nov 9 (Hina) - An indictment on the basis of charges pressed by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar Police Department against a former director of the ailing Viktor Lenac shipyard, Damir Vrhovnik, will not be issued because of lack of evidence, County State Prosecutor Drago Marincel, said on Tuesday.

Marincel said that information from the criminal charges would be processed as part of the Viktor Lenac case, conducted by the County State Prosecutor's Office. The Prosecutor's Office will ask the State Audit Office and the Government to submit additional information.

The police recently filed criminal charges against Damir Vrhovnik on suspicion of mismanagement, which led to bankruptcy procedure for the Viktor Lenac.

Apart from an investigation into the business dealings, another process is under way at the Rijeka Commercial Court. On behalf of the Republic of Croatia, the County State Prosecutor's Office filed a suit aimed at the restitution of land property, namely maritime domain in Martinscica, which is a part of the premises of the shipyard. The proceedings are in process, the initial hearing has already been held and results of the investigation and findings of experts are expected, Marincel said.

A recently founded parliamentary commission on Viktor Lenac is also investigating the shipyard's business dealings. Under the law, the Commission must discontinue the investigation in case of the start of the court proceedings involving the same case.
