ZAGREB, Nov 9 (Hina) - The Foreign Ministry has requested a report from the Croatian Embassy to Washington on an Internet diary kept by an Embassy employee, and has said that it will proceed according to the rules of the diplomatic service after studying the case.

"We have requested a report and opinion from Ambassador Neven Jurica and contractual employee Vibor Kalogjera on this case," Foreign Ministry spokesman Dobroslav Silobrcic told Hina on Tuesday.

"We are expecting the report, and after that we will investigate all the facts and circumstances and act according to the rules," Silobrcic said.

The spokesman could not specify which sanctions the Foreign Ministry may use if Kalogjera is found to have violated the rules of the diplomatic service and harmed the reputation of Croatian diplomacy.

Croatian media recently reported that Kalogjera, third secretary at the Embassy to Washington, had run a blog in which he described his official activities, using vulgar language, and gave his personal assessments of some US politicians.

Using the alias name of Vibbi, Kalogjera reportedly wrote that he had not been employed by Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul but by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, and that he had been one of the key people on the HDZ election team.
