The trade union federations on Thursday sent a letter to the GSV chairwoman and Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, informing her that they could not prepare themselves well enough without the materials on such important topics such as the new state budget or tax reforms.
Although Finance Minister Ivan Suker has promised that social partners will be engaged in the process of decision-making regarding the said topics and that he will hold talks with union leaders before the November 2 session of the GSV, this has not happened. On the other hand, seminars on those topics are being held throughout the country, the unionists warned in the letter.
They added that they did not want to be only on-lookers in the GSV, and accused the government of showing a lack of trust in unions as social partners.
