The NHS has learned from the media that the IMF mission arrived in Croatia to become acquainted with the current economic and financial movements, particularly with the preparation of a 2005 state budget, the framework projection of the economic and fiscal policy for the upcoming three-year period, and preparations for the adoption of a pre-accession economic platform.
The NHS sent a letter to Suker on Wednesday reminding him of his promise that social partners would be notified about the draft state budget at a session of the Economic and Social Council (GSV) as soon as the government drew up the document.
The next session of the GSV is scheduled for 2 November, and its agenda will include items about the 2005 state budget, pre-accession programmes and tax reforms. However, trade union federations have not yet received any pertinent material, which is why the NHS has concluded that the Ivo Sanader cabinet will adjust positions with the IMF before talking to its social partners.
The IMF delegation started its ten-day visit to Croatia on Wednesday with a meeting with officials of the Croatian National Bank (HNB).
