Region institute which would be basedin Salzburg, Austria.
PULA, Oct 26 (Hina) - Speaking to the press in Pula on Tuesday,
Istria County Prefect Ivan Jakovcic and the chairman of the European commission
for institutional issues, Franz Schausberger, spoke about the establishment of
a European Region institute which would be based in Salzburg, Austria.Schausberger said the institute would provide practical assistance to
regions and be a place to share information about health, sustainable
development or investing in the environment.
Jakovcic thanked Schausberger for the offer to be institute vice
president, saying Istria was interested in being the co-founder.
Schausberger described Istria as a typically European region with a high
economic and political reputation in Europe.
The two officials said the institute was expected to be founded in
January.
