ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Berislav Roncevic and his Bosnian counterpart Nikola Radanovic, who arrived in Zagreb for his first official visit to Croatia on Tuesday, reached agreement in principle on bilateral cooperation in the defence sector in 2005.

Possible areas of cooperation are the training of military staff and the use of simulation centres, Roncevic said after the talks with Radovanovic.

He added that the Bosnian ministry was interested in the Croatian model of combined civilian-military education.

Roncevic also said that bilateral cooperation in the defence sector would strengthen the countries' friendly ties and added that Zagreb strongly supported Bosnia's efforts to join NATO's Partnership for Peace programme.

Radovanovic told reporters that he had informed his hosts of his ministry's future activities.

Radovanovic added that the defence ministry, set up at the state level in Bosnia seven months ago, was carrying out reforms in the defence sector which he said was one of the most important events in the country since the conclusion of the 1995 Dayton peace accords.

Croatian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Hidajet Biscevic on Tuesday afternoon received Minister Radovanovic and the two discussed bilateral cooperation.
