The decorations were conferred at a ceremony in Zagreb on Naima Balic, former Croatian assistant minister of culture and head of the Croatian Musical Youth organisation; Berislav Sipus, composer, conductor, director of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and organiser of the Zagreb Music Biennale; Zdenka Weber, career diplomat at the Croatian Foreign Ministry who earned a doctoral degree in musicology and music history from French university of the Sorbonne at Paris; and Claude Veron, director of the French Institute in Zagreb.
