The two officials agreed that relations between Great Britain and Croatia had improved significantly, particularly since Croatia was awarded the status of a candidate for membership of the European Union.
Ramsden said that Croatia was playing a very positive role in the region, and that through different programmes Britain was assisting Croatia in its preparations for integration with the European Union.
Croatia has all the preconditions for being a successful member of the European Union, the British ambassador said.
Bebic said that Croatia very much appreciated Britain's role in the process of its drawing closer to Euro-Atlantic institutions.
Bebic underlined efforts by the Croatian government to strengthen relations and cooperation with neighbouring countries. He also said that the Croatian government had demonstrated its desire to fully cooperate with the Hague war crimes tribunal.
