Both stations questioned voters as they were leaving several hundred polling stations.
According to the Pop TV poll, the SDS has won 30.2 percent of the vote and is expected to have 31 seats in parliament. Second is Prime Minister Anton Rop's Liberal Democrats of Slovenia (LDS), until now the strongest party, with 22.3 percent of the vote and 23 seats in parliament, while the Associated List of Social Democrats is third, with 10.4 percent of the vote and 10 seats in parliament.
The voter turnout was around 60 percent.
The Pop TV poll covered about 12,000 constituents. The poll conducted by Slovene Television has given similar results, with the SDS winning 29.4 percent of the vote and 29 seats in parliament, and the LDS 22.2 percent of the vote and 22 seats.
While casting his ballot earlier today, PM Rop spoke about relations with Croatia, saying there would be no significant changes in the relations between the two countries after the elections, and that incidents would cease, to be followed by tolerant negotiations.
Jansa said that if he became prime minister, his stand with regard to Croatia would be fair.
