The talks involved George C. Pain, chief judge of the Middle District of Tennessee Bankruptcy Court, Charles D. Case, president-elect of the US National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, Borislav Blazevic, head of the Croatian High Commercial Court, and Ivo Grbin, head of the Croatian Supreme Court Civil Division.
On Thursday, Judge Case and Judge Paine conducted a seminar on bankruptcy case management, the role of judges, and the need to establish effective communication and good relations with the media, attorneys and other court users, the statement said.
The two judges are visiting Croatia under the auspices of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
Since 1992, Washington has provided over USD407 million to Croatia through this agency in order to strengthen democratic and economic development, assist in the return of refugees, and support de-mining and educational projects.
