The leader od the association of pensioners in the Republic of Srpska, Rade Rakulj, said the protest rally was the beginning of demonstrations which pensioners would organise in the coming days if the entity's government failed to meet their requests.
Refuting accusations of some politicians that the rally was organised to prevent a possible success of national parties at the forthcoming local elections, the leader of the association of Banja Luka retirees, Nenad Ratkovic said pensioners "support neither the current government nor the opposition, but they are only asking for their pensions".
Supporting actions of pensioners, students of the local university have announced their protest rally for Tuesday in Banja Luka at which they will demonstrate against the government's plan to raise scholarship fees to 600 convertible marks (approximately 300 euros).
