Stuckey and Kuhn said that their organisations would continue assisting in the development of infrastructure and agriculture in areas cleared of land mines.
The mine clearance site at Gornje Mekusje measures 83,000 square metres and, according to military records, contains at least 300 mines.
The two American organisations have provided a total of 41,500 US dollars for the mine removal effort, which began last Wednesday and was expected to end on October 15. The entire project is worth 131,140 dollars, and thanks to their initial assistance the full sum has been secured from the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance and the Croatian Mine Action Centre.
