ZAGREB, Sept 20 (Hina) - The film "Svjedoci" (Witnesses) by Vinko Bresan, produced by Interfilm and Croatian Radio-Television, is the winner of an international film festival in the Dutch resort of Vlissingen, held on 13-19 September, Interfilmpress reported on Monday.

The Vlissingen festival, which is dedicated to films based on literary works, featured 80 films.

The Croatian film competed with films from the United States, Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland, New Zealand, and Germany.

Bresan was presented with the award by US director Milos Forman.

This is the film's fifth award, following awards at the film festivals in Berlin, Karlovy Vary, and Jerusalem.
