OTOK, Sept 19 (Hina) - A plaque reading "To All the Ustashas",
similar to one removed earlier in the day, was placed at the same place in
Otok, a village near Sinj, 30 km northeast of the southern seaport of Split,
around 2 pm, Nino Curic of the Split-Dalmatia County Police said.A smaller plaque reading "Watch Out, Mined" was placed nearby, but an
inspection showed no mines were planted.
Curic said that due to resistance from about 50 locals, police decided
to leave the plaque. Officers are patrolling the area, he added. Police in Sinj
said the plaque would be removed tomorrow.
The first stone plaque, engraved with the words "To all the Ustasha -
from the Residents of Otok", was discovered at Franjo Tudjman Square early this
morning and was removed.
