The memorial plaque was unveiled by Czech Ambassador to Croatia Petr Burianek.
After the unveiling ceremony, Rijeka mayor Vojko Obersnel and the chairman of the City Council, Zeljko Glavan, gave a reception for the Czech delegation, which was led by Ambassador Burianek.
Burianek expressed satisfaction with the meeting and thanked for the support of the city authorities to the association and the Czech consulate in Rijeka, which was opened a year ago.
Burianek said he was confident that Croatia would be successful in negotiations on membership of the European Union and that the country had made significant progress over the last two years, particularly in road construction.
Mayor Obersnel said that the cooperation of the city authorities and the Czech association was very good and that "Ceska beseda" was one of the most active minority associations in Rijeka.
Representatives of the Czech community said that the city's financial support to the Czech minority was significant.
There are 14 minority communities in Rijeka.
The celebration of the association's anniversary will resume with an exhibition of paintings of the association's branch in Virovitica and a music programme.
