Jurica said he expected the friendly relations and partnership between Croatia and the United States to continue.
Stressing that Croatia is a reliable member of the anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States, Jurica said the U.S. could be confident that Croatia would be fully engaged in the global struggle against terrorism.
"Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader has already expressed full readiness for close cooperation with the United States in providing assistance to the interim government in Iraq and expanding Croatia's engagement in Afghanistan," Jurica said at the White House.
The Croatian ambassador stressed it was important that Southeast European countries join NATO and added that their membership of the alliance would ensure stability and security in the region.
Jurica highlighted the importance of cooperation within the Adriatic Charter, signed by Albania, Croatia, Macedonia and the United States.
The ambassador said Croatia wanted to join NATO and expected the support of the United States in that process.
Speaking about economic cooperation, Jurica said the two countries' trade last year amounted to US$550 million and added that Croatia wanted to advance bilateral trade.
