The minister said she was surprised and concerned about the ICTY decision, which was adopted on Tuesday, given the guarantees provided by the Croatian government and Croatia's good cooperation with the Hague-based war crimes tribunal.
Osorio said this was an autonomous decision by the trial chamber which could be changed only by legal means. He also conveyed a message by chief prosecutor Carla del Ponte saying that the Prosecution was also surprised with the said decision, given that it did not oppose the generals' provisional release, the statement said.
