ZAGREB, Sept 13 (Hina) - According to an instruction on the enforcementof the new traffic safety law, which went into force on 20 August, thepolice will tolerate 0.1 percent of alcohol in a driver's breathbecause of possible faults of
measurement instruments, the CroatianInterior Ministry's spokesman, Zlatko Mehun, said on Monday.
ZAGREB, Sept 13 (Hina) - According to an instruction on the
enforcement of the new traffic safety law, which went into force on 20 August,
the police will tolerate 0.1 percent of alcohol in a driver's breath because of
possible faults of measurement instruments, the Croatian Interior Ministry's
spokesman, Zlatko Mehun, said on Monday.In practice, this means that when the breathalyzer shows 0.1 per mille
of alcohol, the driver will not be fined, Mehun explained.
However, in cases of road accidents, the amount of alcohol will be
accurately established with lab blood tests and no amount of alcohol will be
tolerated.
