The tax reform, which envisages changes to income tax and profit tax, will be debated by the cabinet in about three weeks and after that by the GSV, deputy prime minister and council president Jadranka Kosor told reporters after the council meeting.
The social partners -- representatives of the government, trade unions and employers -- did not specifically discuss tax rates, but trade unions will discuss the matter with Minister Suker before the Council meets to debate tax reform.
Kosor said that the partners had agreed not to communicate with one another through the media anymore, but to try to reach an agreement on all disputed issues at the meeting on tax reform.
The council also discussed preparations for the use of EU pre-accession funds and budget projections for the next three years.
Kosor said that the council would serve as a coordinating body from which the partners would be able to get all the necessary information about negotiations.
