France and Germany have proposed that the number of permanent members of the UN Security Council be increased by including two industrially developed nations and that the number of non-permanent members of the Security Council also be increased so that countries from Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America could participate in the Council's work.
Biscevic confirmed that Croatia was interested in taking an active part in the debate on the UN reform as a country with great experience in the functioning of some of the UN bodies and as a country interested in becoming a non-permanent member of the Security Council during the 2008/2009 period.
