ZAGREB, Sept 2 (Hina) - A seminar on how to do business with Indonesia which gathered representatives of about 30 Croatian companies was held at the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) on Thursday.

The seminar was organised by the Budapest-based Indonesian Embassy to Croatia, the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre, and HGK.

Croatia-Indonesia economic and trade relations, although good, are not satisfactory given the potential, said Sunja Konjevod of HGK.

Croatian exports to Indonesia in this year's first six months amounted to US$672,000 while imports from Indonesia were $31.12 million, according to figures of Croatia's Central Bureau of Statistics.

Trade between the two countries increased fivefold in the last five years, primarily due to the considerable increase in the import of Indonesian products, notably coal, said Suprianda Ruru of the Indonesian Embassy, adding the trend, however, left a high deficit on the Croatian side.

Attending today's seminar were also representatives of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship Ministry.

Also presented today was the Recourse Indonesia 2004 exhibition, which will be held in Jakarta on October 13-17.
