We did not discuss candidates, Sanader said and added that the session also focused on preparations for the local elections.
Other political issues were also discussed, such as the removal of the memorial plaques to Mile Budak and Jure Francetic, Sanader said and added that the HDZ national council fully supported the government's decision in connection with that issue.
Sanader said the talks mostly focused on negotiations Croatia was about to enter with the European Union. The government is expected to make a decision on who will be part of the negotiating team and who will be at its helm.
"The meeting was a regular meeting at which we agreed on crucial strategic activities before the start of the autumn part of the parliamentary session," Sanader said.
