Colak was responding to a question from the press if he knew the whereabouts of documents on the activities of his party, the Croatian Defence Council and the former republic of Herceg Bosna from 1 April 1992 to 31 December 1993 which the tribunal's chief prosecutor, Carla del Ponte, has asked to be submitted by the end of September. In the contrary, she has indirectly threatened Bosnian Croat officials might be sacked.
The justice minister of Bosnia's Croat-Muslim entity, Borjana Kristo, has recently said the entity authorities are unfamiliar with the whereabouts of Herceg Bosna's war archives.
The Bosnian Croat officer for liaison with the Hague tribunal, Goran Mihaljevic, said yesterday he would contact Croatia's authorities for help in the tracing of the documents given numerous indications that the documents might be in Zagreb.
