Novosel told Hina that the State Prosecutor's Office did not expect Gabric to leave the country, but that it feared that he could influence the witnesses and interfere with the investigation.
The Prosecutor's Office will therefore tomorrow appeal against the decision of the investigating judge, Novosel said.
A government's commissioner for the town of Metkovic, Ivica Vidovic, on Thursday pressed criminal charges with the Metkovic police against Gabric, accusing him of several acts of white collar crime.
Gabric claims he was on a business trip to Montenegro at the time.
Police issued a warrant for Gabric's arrest on Friday and he was apprehended in Dubrovnik today.
