ROVINJ, Aug 13 (Hina) - Seven yachts burned down in a big fire which
broke out in a marina of the northern Adriatic coastal town of Rovinj around 5
am on Friday, a Slovene girl and a marina employee sustained burns, while two
boaters who were rescuing the girl were transferred to a hospital in Pula due
to carbon monoxide poisoning.Istria County state prosecutor Vlatko Nuic assumes the fire was caused
by the irresponsible behaviour of the owner of a Slovene yacht, who connected
to the marina's electricity contrary to regulations and left the boat
unattended for days.
Nuic said the investigation carried out so far ruled out the possibility
of a terrorist act.
According to unofficial reports, the damage exceeds one million
euros.
