Anton Rop, enjoys the support of 11.4percent of voters.
LJUBLJANA, Aug 9 (Hina) - An opinion poll conducted by the Slovene
national television on the popularity of politicians two months before
parliamentary elections shows that the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDS),
led by Prime Minister Anton Rop, enjoys the support of 11.4 percent of
voters.
According to the results of the poll, broadcast on Sunday evening, the
second-ranked is the leading opposition Slovene Democratic Party (SDS) of Janez
Jansa.
The poll covering 342 respondents, shows that the Democratic Christians
gathered in the New Slovenia party led by Andrej Bajuk are supported by 6.4
percent of the respondents. This party is followed by the United List of Social
Democrats (ZLSD) of Borut Pahor (4.7 percent). The fifth-ranked is the Slovene
National Party (SNS) of Zmago Jelincic (4.5 percent).
The parliamentary election is set for 3 October.
